Butis gymnopomus, known for its elongated body and distinctive 'duckbill' snout, is a hardy sleeper goby often found in a variety of water conditions. Usually peaceful, it can exhibit some territorial behavior, especially in smaller tank setups. Prone to jumping, so an adequately covered tank is essential. They are opportunistic feeders, thriving on a mixed diet of live, dried, and frozen foods. Care should be taken to provide ample hiding spaces, mimicking natural creek beds or estuarine environments.
