Homalopteroides stephensoni thrives in tanks that simulate its natural habitat: well-oxygenated, fast-moving waters with plenty of hiding spots among smooth rocks and driftwood. They are peaceful community fish but are best kept in groups of at least five to exhibit natural schooling behavior. Regular filtration and water changes are critical due to their sensitivity to water conditions. Feed them a varied diet of sinking pellets, frozen foods like bloodworms, and live foods such as daphnia and brine shrimp. They may graze on algae, adding to their appeal in a diversified tank setup.
