Metynnis argenteus

Metynnis argenteus, commonly known as the Silver Dollar, is a peaceful shoaling fish ideal for community tanks. Known for their disc-shaped body resembling a silver coin (hence the name), they require ample swimming space due to their active nature. Though peaceful, it is wise to house them with similarly-sized species to prevent potential fin nipping. Silver Dollar fish are predominantly vegetarian, so it's important to provide a diet rich in plant materials.
