Monopterus albus

Monopterus albus are elongated, air-breathing fish that can reach lengths of up to 100 cm, although in captivity they might not grow this large. Their physiology allows them to survive in low-oxygen environments, and they often inhabit shallow waters like rice paddies and swamps. Known for their resilience, they can traverse short distances overland in search of water or better habitat conditions.
