Nomorhamphus hageni
Indian Halfbeak, Celebes Halfbeak
Nomorhamphus hageni are viviparous and can give birth to live young, making them suitable for enthusiast breeders. The fish are surface dwellers and tend to stay near the top of the aquarium. They coexist peacefully and appreciate tank mates of similar size and temperament. In aquariums, it is essential to have a well-fitted lid, as halfbeaks have a propensity to jump. A diet enriched with small live or frozen foods, such as mosquito larvae or brine shrimp, will ensure they thrive in captivity.
