Puntius vittatus, known for its distinct horizontal stripes and lively temperament, is a peaceful shoaling fish. It's recommended to keep them in groups of at least 6 to mimic their natural environment, reduce stress, and enhance their vibrant coloring. They are omnivorous, feeding on various insects, detritus, and plant material in the wild, but accept a wide range of prepared foods in captivity, making them relatively easy to care for. Providing plenty of swimming space with a mix of natural plants, as well as some shaded areas, will help keep them active and engaged.
